Citibank, NSD, & Found $

February 25th, 2009 at 01:33 am

Yesterday I got the CC Rewards check in the mail from Citibank that I requested last week. The amount is $68.07, which will get deposited to the extra income fund.

Then I went to Walmart with a few co-workers at lunch time. I didn't buy anything there, but I did pick up a penny near the cash register area as I was waiting in line with a friend of mine.

Today was another NSD for me!!

Sunday news

February 22nd, 2009 at 06:22 pm

Today is going to be another no-spender. We have more than enough food for at least a week. There is plenty of gas in the vehicles also.

I looked at the coupon inserts in the Sunday newspaper and didn't seem worth much this week. I'm going to get some refund offers ready to mail out tomorrow for some items I purchased yesterday.

I updated my profiles on Global Test Market surveys. I have over 500 points there so I am half-way to cashing out with that company. I requested a $3 check from Survey Spot today also.

Have a relaxing Sunday!!

2 Cents

February 21st, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I found 2 pennies on the laundromat floor as I was walking through when picking DD up from work last night. Usually I don't go inside, just wait outside...but well worth it for the walk last night!!

Friday Update

February 21st, 2009 at 01:25 am

I sent another $50 to the principal on the car loan today. So I've sent $120 this month instead of the usual $70.

+++

I received a refund check in the mail for $12.99 to add to the extra income account.

+++

Also, I found a penny in the break room at work.

Have a great weekend!!

Starbucks, Surveys, CC Rewards...

February 19th, 2009 at 12:16 am

I received an email from Starbucks today to sign up for a sample. Here is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.starbucksstore.com/products/via/freesample.asp?CCAID=SBXNWSL217T

( I don't know how to do hyperlinks!)

+++

I've done some online surveys today from Global Test Market and Your 2 Cents. I requested a check for $10 from Your 2 Cents, since I finally earned the minimum payout amount.

+++

I also requested a check from Citibank for my rewards in the amount of $68.07. I should probably have that within 1 week...it usually arrives very quickly! Smile

$4

February 18th, 2009 at 06:24 pm

I got a $4 rebate check in the mail today from Rite Aid. That will go to the extra income account.

I have been comparison shopping with some auto dealerships and online tire companies to find the best price on tires. I found a couple of other sites besides tirerack.com that have lower prices + free shipping. I am still doing some research though.

NSD, Tire Shopping, etc.

February 15th, 2009 at 09:17 pm

Today was another NSD. I didn't use any gas or spend any money!

I recently had my car inspected and the mechanic advised me that my tires will need replaced in the near future, although the tread was fine to pass inspection. The current, original tires on the vehicle served me well...~65,000 miles. The shop where I had the inspection done gave me a quote on 4 new tires with a B3G1F promotion. It is close to $400 including everything. I have been browsing on www.tirerack.com to see if I can get better pricing. I was just wondering if anyone here actually purchased tires with that company. I think Fern mentioned it awhile back.

I started working on my taxes. Last year I had my withholding amount adjusted with one of my employers because I didn't want a large refund. I may have to adjust that again. It appears as though I owe the government more money. That doesn't make me very happy. I will see what can be done to alter the withholding once again so at least I get a small refund instead of having to pay in when tax season rolls around.

Have a great day!

Small Contribution to the Extra Income Fund

February 14th, 2009 at 03:44 am

This week I only have a small amount to add to the extra income savings account--$11.20!!

$ 8.00- Survey income
$ 2.50- Refund check
$ 0.70- Found money

Usually every other week I have minimal money to put in this account because I get paid from both my Saturday jobs the same week.

Friday Update

February 14th, 2009 at 01:26 am

I found more money today. At Wal-mart I found a nickel. In the locker room at work again I found a dime and 2 pennies.

++++

I got a free coupon I must have signed up for online for any Suave product. It is only dated until 02/28/09, so I want to be sure to use it.

++++

I got a GC code from a survey company for $5 for Amazon via an email.

I will add the found money and survey income to my extra income fund for the week.

Have a great evening!

Refund Check and Laundry $

February 13th, 2009 at 03:56 am

I received a refund check in the mail for $2.50 today.

Also, when doing laundry tonight 2 quarters were in the washer from someone who didn't empty their pockets.

So $3 more to add to the extra income fund for the week!

Found some more $

February 12th, 2009 at 11:40 am

Yesterday in the locker room at work I found 2 pennies on the floor. No one else bothered to pick them up over the course of the day, so I decided they were mine!

Found money!

February 11th, 2009 at 03:44 am

Tonight I went to Wal-mart to get a few items. To my surprise I found a penny in front of the checkout counter. It has been too long now that I've found any money. So I will add that to my extra income fund!

Pinecone survey

February 10th, 2009 at 06:47 pm

Another $3 was deposited into my Paypal account from a survey I completed last week.

It seems like invites from all survey companies have been slow recently...or maybe it is just my imagination!!

WAG and some extra income

February 8th, 2009 at 12:22 am

++++

I received another $4.50 in refund checks today in the mail. I will update my extra income fund tomorrow.

Have a nice evening!

Fast Food + Some Extra $

February 7th, 2009 at 12:23 am

Today after work I did a mystery shop for a fast food restaurant. So free dinner for the children (once I get reimbursed) + a shopper's fee for entering the info online.

In other news, a few weeks ago I noticed an advertisement in the newspaper for someone wanting lawn & garden equipment for restoration/parts. The ad stated that cash would be given for items, any condition. I've had a broken down, small lawn tractor in my garage since summer. I had no idea how I would get rid of it, because it didn't run, had transmission problems, etc. Of course I didn't want to have to pay someone to come and haul it away. I called up this guy, told him the make/model, issues with the lawn tractor, etc. He offered me $35 for it, which was fine with me because I simply no longer had any use for that piece of junk! I'm just happy to be rid of it and got a bit of extra $ to add to the extra income fund. Besides, now I have room to pull my other vehicle in the garage also!

Have a great evening!

Another No Spend Day!!

February 6th, 2009 at 03:58 am

Today, I took my lunch to work as I usually do. Didn't have any errands to run over lunch hour; therefore today was an NSD!

Refund checks

February 5th, 2009 at 02:55 am

So far this week I got $12.87 in refund checks from various offers. That will get deposited into the extra income fund at the end of the week.

Also, I sent out the $70 principal payment for the car loan for February.

Nothing much new here. I will probably get started on my taxes either this week or next. I'm not sure if I'll get a refund this year. I had my federal withholding changed in 2008 since I got a refund for over $2,000 for the tax year 2007.

NSD, Credit Limit Increase, etc.

February 2nd, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Yesterday was a NSD for me. I didn't go anywhere at all.

I signed in to one of my credit cards and noticed that I received another credit limit increase of $2400. Since November 2008 my limit increased by $3600.

Even though my FICO score dropped 30 points from the previous month, I am still eligible for credit increases. I'm not aware as to why my score fell that much as I have been current on payments for years, no new lines of credit since last month, nothing extravagant charged on existing cards, etc. One of my CC has been closed by the company for lack of usage...maybe that has an effect.

Have a super Monday!

Saturday job update

February 1st, 2009 at 06:01 pm

Two weeks ago on a Saturday I had a working interview for a Saturday only position (2 per month). It seemed to go well and the employer was impressed with my work. He said that he would get back to me via email or phone because he had a couple other prospective employees scheduled for working interviews. He is currently interviewing for 2 other positions within the office as well (which is a BIG red flag especially in this economy). I'm not aware as to why there are so many vacancies in the office.

I received an email from him this week stating that an employee who has been with him for 20+ years had just recently asked him if she could pick up extra hours on Saturdays. So naturally he feels obligated to give her the hours. I understand that completely. Now I would think that before he advertised the position, he would check first with internal employees. But who knows! Anyway, he again thanked me for working that Saturday, stating that he thought I was a great worker and wants to keep my resume on file for possible future full-time or to fill in on an as needed basis.

At first I was a bit upset. As it is now, I work every Saturday between two offices. I was just looking to replace the one job with one that offers perhaps better working conditions and pay rate.

I do realize that I am fortunate to have 2 part-time Saturday jobs + a full-time job when so many people are losing their jobs. *crossing fingers* that it stays that way.

So right now I will stay where I am at. I will continue to scan the help wanted ads for a replacement Saturday position in my field. If something comes along that's fine, if not fine again!

Small Extra Income Deposit

February 1st, 2009 at 01:43 pm

I didn't have too much in the way of extra income this week. Just a couple of refund checks totaling $3.97, so I will deposit that into the savings account.

I hope next week brings in more extra income.

The total for January in this account is $881.61.

Have a good Sunday!
