Coupon Inserts Very Disappointing Recently

I've been noticing that for about the last month or so, the coupon inserts in the Sunday newspaper are very thin. The main reason I have home delivery is for the coupons. I had originally thought that the savings in coupons would outweigh the cost of the newspaper. Even though I am not brand loyal, there are barely any coupons in the inserts. Instead it is loaded with advertisements/catalog order items.

I may have to rethink my Sunday newspaper subscription.

Has anyone else noticed the lack of "good" manufacturer coupons?

    Yep, lack of good quality coupons here. The only good thing I have seen this past week is free disposible razors and Excederin $4 off, but that is about it.

    Lack of coupons combined with lack of sales is frustrating. I'm noticing our sales flyers are mostly "every day low price!" on everything in it! I'd like to see sales please, not everyday prices.

    Summer is always the slowest time for coupons - Sept - Feb is the best.

    I don't think they have been awful, but not good either. What I am having trouble with is matching the coupons to good store offers. Just not working.

    I have pretty much given up on buying the newspaper. At work, someone cuts out the coupons and passes them around so that everyone can pick out what the want. I don't seem to be "wanting" very much of what they have lately. My latest strategy has been to go to Dollar General for a lot of my canned goods stuff. They have a lot of name brand stuff and some other good quality generic stuff. For frozen food and whatever else they don't have, I go to the grocery store.

    I have the same problem with the 2 newspapers we have home delivery of...but I discovered that the newspaper of the larger city we are near (Phila Enquirer) usually has better coupons! I have been going out and buying one of these on Sundays to get the better coupons. Maybe this is something you could check out?

    It has been hit and miss, but there was some good ones last week with Kellogg insert. If you're looking for particular type of coupons, I recommend to use coupon clipping service or trade with someone.
