Refund Check and Laundry $

February 13th, 2009 at 03:56 am

I received a refund check in the mail for $2.50 today.

Also, when doing laundry tonight 2 quarters were in the washer from someone who didn't empty their pockets.

So $3 more to add to the extra income fund for the week!

WAG and some extra income

February 8th, 2009 at 12:22 am

Today after work I stopped at Walgreen's to get some FAR items. I got the following items that totaled $35.39-$4.00 in coupons = $31.39.

Zucol Cold Care Lozenges
Revlon Age Defying Spa Foundation
Fructis Wonder Waves Mousse
Revlon Creme Lip Gloss
Walgreen's Multi-Purpose Solution

I am due to get $33.95 in a refund check. So I made a profit of $2.56!! I submitted the receipt info online and requested the check so that I don't forget it.

++++

I received another $4.50 in refund checks today in the mail. I will update my extra income fund tomorrow.

Have a nice evening!

Refund checks

February 5th, 2009 at 02:55 am

So far this week I got $12.87 in refund checks from various offers. That will get deposited into the extra income fund at the end of the week.

Also, I sent out the $70 principal payment for the car loan for February.

Nothing much new here. I will probably get started on my taxes either this week or next. I'm not sure if I'll get a refund this year. I had my federal withholding changed in 2008 since I got a refund for over $2,000 for the tax year 2007.

Free Seasonal Teas from Amazon

January 30th, 2009 at 10:35 pm

I have some money accumulated on Amazon gift certificates from doing various surveys. I really wanted to use some for a carpet shampooer, but do not have enough $ in my Amazon account to even cover half the cost of it. I don't want to spend a couple hundred dollars right now on a shampooer.

Anyway, I've been looking for some of my favorite seasonal teas from Bigelow at the local supermarket but haven't had any luck. Earlier this week, I decided to browse on Amazon and found 2 varieties that are much less expensive than buying them in the grocery store. The tea arrived today. I bought 1 case of 6 boxes each of Ginger Snappish and Eggnogg'n Tea. Each case was $14.77. Since the total was $29.54, the order qualified for FREE shipping (over $25)!! I used $29.54 from my Amazon GC balance so I received 12 boxes of tea with a "best used by date" of 2011 and 2012! So I think I have an ample supply for a couple of years. But I drink so much hot tea that I may need to replenish my supply sooner than that!

I received another refund check for $1.98 to add to the extra income fund.

Have a great evening!!

NSD and Refund Check

January 29th, 2009 at 03:01 pm

Yesterday was a NSD for me. The children did not have school, although I went to work.

I also received a refund check from Chapstick for $1.99, so that will go to the extra income fund.

Sunday Update

January 25th, 2009 at 03:15 pm

Yesterday after work I stopped at the grocery store to pick up some fresh fruit/veggies. I think I got some pretty good deals on most items:

Baby carrots 2 lb. $2.00 each
Avocados (4) $0.68 each
Radishes 2 lb. $2.00 each
Pears $1.00/lb.
Apples $1.00/lb.
Cucumbers (2) $0.68 each
Pineapple (1) $2.84
Tomatoes $1.58/lb.

DD has been on a health kick lately. I never have bought much in the way of junk food (chips, ice cream, etc.) Maybe once every couple of months. I can easily do without that. Another thing I don't eat much of is meat. It seems most days I eat fruits/veggies, cheese, nuts, yogurt, etc. (especially for lunches & snacks) and I am satisfied with that. I also got some turkey burgers, ground beef, eggs, and a few other items. I spent $40 for groceries.

I also stopped at the car wash to remove the salt from my car. Spent $8 there.

I filled my car with gas where I commute to work on Saturdays since it is less expensive there--$1.73/gal. It is $1.85 where I live. So a savings there of $0.12/gal. Filled the tank for $16.25.

++++

I got another rebate check in the mail today from Zantac for $5, which will go towards savings.

Have a nice Sunday!

More Refund Checks

January 23rd, 2009 at 03:11 am

I received 2 more refund checks in the mail today. One was from Hunt's Ketchup and the other from Excedrin. The total amount was $4.46, which will go to the extra income fund.

Tuesday Update

January 21st, 2009 at 03:00 am

Today I took my car for state inspection. It was due by the end of the month and I don't like waiting until the last minute because it is often difficult to get an appointment. Anyway the cost for that was $23.31...it passed inspection without needing anything!! In fact I haven't done anything to my Honda yet (other than oil changes) and it is 4 years old. The technician said it is in great shape; however, the tire tread is near the borderline of not passing but for now it is fine. They gave me a quote for 4 new tires which is valid for 30 days. This shop currently has a promotion B3G1F, but still I'm not sure if it is a good deal until I do a little homework and shop around. Did I mention that I love my Honda much better than my Ford vehicle??? It is undeniably much more reliable and very well built. On the other hand, over the years...mostly every time I get the Ford inspected it needs something replaced in order for it to pass inspection. This Honda is my first ever, non-domestic vehicle and it has served me very well thus far. It has 64K miles on it. I don't think I'll buy another domestic car, IMO they are poorly manufactured and always in need of something. Once the Ford dies, my top choices for a vehicle would definitely be a Honda or Toyota!

++++

Our boss took us out to Chili's last night for dinner. I ordered my usual--Southwestern Cobb Salad. In fact, I don't think I've ever ordered anything different when I go there. It was very good. I had leftovers for lunch today. So a free dinner and lunch!

++++

I got 2 rebate checks in the mail today for a total of $6.08, which will be deposited into the extra income fund at the end of the week.

Have a great evening!

$181.25 Rebate

January 19th, 2009 at 06:21 pm

I bought an electronics item as a Christmas gift for my daughter from Ebay which had a 25% rebate payable within 6-8 weeks from Microsoft.

It was just deposited into my Paypal account last night. Since I have already paid the full amount by CC for the item, I will add the $181.25 to my extra income fund for the week.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Final deposit to CC Savings!

January 6th, 2009 at 02:23 pm

I'm adding the amount of $103.93 in extra income to my account from the following sources:

$50.00 Continuing Ed Course reimburse
$ 6.16 Amazon book sale profit
$15.38 Rebate checks
$ 3.00 Pinecone survey
$ 1.01 Found money
$ 8.38 December interest on CC savings
$20.00 Discover Cashback

Now I have a grand total of $4067.97 from extra sources of income to apply to the Home Depot CC!

More money to CC debt!

January 6th, 2009 at 02:25 am

In the mail today I got 2 refund checks in the amount of $10.19 total.

++++

Also, several weeks ago I gave my employer a receipt for a continuing education course that I attended back in October. Usually he conveniently or perhaps legitimately forgets to write a check out to reimburse the costs. I do know that some employees just let it go and don't question it if they don't get paid. Since it is considered a benefit, you better believe it that I'm going to go after anything that is due to me!

I figured I can put this money to my CC debt since I need to pay it by tomorrow. So I went to my employer and inquired about it (guess he misplaced the receipt I had given him) and he wrote me out a check on the spot for the $50 that I had spent on the course! Yay!

Wednesday Update

December 31st, 2008 at 11:24 pm

Today I worked, but only until lunchtime. But I am really tired for some reason. I guess it is good that we are staying home tonight, eating some shrimp and snacks, playing board games, etc. I don't know if I'll make it until midnight!

++++

I got $3 from Pinecone for a survey I completed the end of last week. Then today I got a refund check in the mail from Scrubbing Bubbles TMF offer for $5.19. Earlier this afternoon I signed up for several free samples--coffee, cereal, and eyeglass wipes.

++++

I was planning on going to Home Depot to pay off my last remaining CC which I thought was due 1/1/09. I decided to access my CC statement online and found out that I have until either the promotion end date or the statement due date, which is 1/6/09, whichever is later. I was so happy! That gives me a few more days to come up with some extra income, so that I have to withdraw less from my regular savings to make my payment. I don't know what difference five days will make, but every little bit adds up.

++++

I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year!

NSD, Ebay Profits, CC Savings Update..

December 2nd, 2008 at 04:11 am

Today I didn't spend any money. I stayed in at lunch today (which I usually do) and ate a Lean Cuisine meal, frozen blueberries and red raspberries, and a slice of cheese. Most of the rest of my co-workers went to Chili's for lunch, but I didn't feel like spending $10 for the meal. Besides it was rainy and damp and I just didn't feel like leaving the building.

++++

Since last week I sold 5 items on Ebay with a profit of $108.80 after deducting fees. I was pleased with that. At least I made a little $ and freed up some more space in the house.

I still have 12 items listed with bids on 5 of them. There are also multiple watchers on many items.

++++

I am depositing $381.80 into my CC savings account from the following extra sources of income:

$108.80.....Ebay Profits
$145.00.....Escrow overage check
$ .01.....Found $
$ 61.99.....Citibank Cash Rewards
$ 66.00.....Refund Checks

I have updated the sidebar with this information.

Ebay status, found $, etc.

December 1st, 2008 at 12:50 pm

I received a payment (on 1 of the 2 items that I was still awaiting payment on) over the weekend. I messaged the other buyer that didn't pay to make them aware that I planned on relisting the item. She claimed that she needed to open another Paypal account (since she was locked out of her original account) and had to wait for a pin # after linking her bank account so it would be another several days before she could pay me??? Anyway, she told me to do whatever I had to do... So I relisted the item!

Another few items sold in over the weekend plus I listed some other things (mainly electronics). I will post the profits for the items that ended through November 30 either later today or tomorrow.

++++

Over the holiday I found a penny in a parking lot when we went shopping for some food.

The kids and I had a nice time visiting with my sister & BIL for Thanksgiving. We stayed there for a few days. It was refreshing to get away for a bit.

++++

I received a check in the mail from my mortgage escrow account due to an overage since I refinanced it a couple of months ago. It was for $145.

In addition, I received $56 in refund checks from Rite Aid, Land O Lakes Butter, and A & H Oxiclean Detergent.

All of these amounts will go to the CC savings deposit for the week. I will post a summary for that and update my sidebar later today.

Happy Cyber Monday!

More checks & ebay update

November 26th, 2008 at 05:58 am

I continued where I left off last night with posting the rest of the items on Ebay to take advantage of the special fee deal. I will declutter some more after Thanksgiving and probably list other items before Christmas.

Still nothing from the buyer that hasn't paid yet. I will just relist the item tomorrow. Two of my auctions ended tonight & were already paid for, so I have those items ready to ship out tomorrow.

I plan to post profits after I come back from the cabin in the mountains where we go for Thanksgiving. We are leaving tomorrow night so I won't be around for a few days.

++++
I received 2 checks in the mail today. One was for $61.99 from Citibank Cash Rewards. The other was a rebate offer on Goldtoe socks which I bought at Kohl's about 1 month ago. It was $10. I will add both of these to my CC savings.

Have a great and restful Thanksgiving everyone!

I blew 22 cents at CVS today!!

November 23rd, 2008 at 09:42 pm

Today at CVS I bought some candy & gum, plus the Maybelline Mineral Makeup which was free after getting the $8.99 EB back. So my total including tax was $15.32. I used $3.10 in manufacturers' coupons + $12.00 EB (earned a few weeks ago). My total OOP was $0.22 plus I earned $8.99 more in EB for the Maybelline!!

++++

I have 2 items ending on Ebay today. Both have bids on them so I will post my profits from that tomorrow.

Have a great evening everyone!

CC Savings Update for the week

November 10th, 2008 at 12:20 am

I'm depositing Rite Aid rebate checks in the amount of $143.64 + 0.25 found money for a total of $143.89 into the CC savings account.

Somehow I think I will be dipping heavily into my regular savings account to come up with the bulk of the amount needed to pay off this last CC.

I'm using all extra funds I receive from Saturday work, surveys, rebate checks, Ebay sales, etc., but it just doesn't seem to be adding up very quickly...guess I should have started funding the account a bit sooner!

November 9th, 2008 at 10:36 pm

$10.01 profit earned at CVS!!

November 7th, 2008 at 02:39 am

I took DD to the doctor as she has an skin rash. The doctor didn't know what it was...only that it was an allergic reaction to something.

Anyway she gave her a prescription. I had a coupon for CVS for a $25 Gift Card on any new/transferred prescription. The cost with insurance was $14.99...so I made $10.01 extra by going to CVS to get the prescription filled!!

CVS Shopping

Earlier this week I went bargain shopping at CVS. I bought the following items:

Lady Speed Stick(4) $7.96
Bic Soleil Razor 5.99

After deducting manufacturer coupons of $7.00 and $8.99 in EBs, the final total was $11.35. I also got a $25 Gift card coupon on a new or transferred prescription that expires next month.

I love CVS. It is much easier to do these offers than say Walgreen's or Rite Aid's Single Check Rebates, provided that you don't forget to use your EBs by the expiration date!

October 10th, 2008 at 06:25 pm

I am adding extra income in the amount of $25.95 from this week to my CC #3 savings account:

I got a rebate check from Walgreen's today for $20.46.
Another check for Tum's Quik Pak for $.99.

Also, I found 2 cents at work in the locker room on the floor.

I will add all of this to my CC #3 savings account.

Survey $ and Rebate Check

October 7th, 2008 at 05:46 pm

I received $2 from Greenfield via paypal for a survey I completed a few weeks ago. Not as fast as Pinecone, but at least quicker than waiting for a check!

In the mail today I got a rebate check for Spray n Wash in the amount of $2.48.

I will add both of these to my CC savings account.

Grocery Bargains, Library, etc.

October 3rd, 2008 at 02:41 am

After work today, I stopped at the grocery store near my house where many produce items were on sale. I bought bananas, cabbage, red grapes, apples, acorn squash, broccoli, baby carrots, and plum tomatoes. I also got 8 containers of Yoplait yogurt and 2 boxes of Hot Pocket Paninis. I used $1.90 in manufacturer coupons that are doubled...so I saved $3.80 there. In addition, I had a coupon on my receipt from a previous shopping trip at that store for $3 off a $15 produce purchase. I ended up spending $21.75. So now I am stocked up for lunches and snacks for next week.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I also went to the library today and checked out 2 DVDs for DS. This is a small library and not much to choose from, but occasionally they get some new titles.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I found another penny at the convenience store where I stopped last night to get some gas. For some reason, I've been able to locate much more change on the ground than I have in the past. Maybe I'm more on the lookout for it than I was in the past. Anyway, I will add that to my CC #3 fund.

Online Refund Form Site

September 21st, 2008 at 09:19 pm

I have noticed in the last several years that rebate forms posted in stores seem to be a thing of the past. About 10 years ago, I would see many tear-off pads of forms for a variety of different products, but not anymore. I think some of this is due to the all-in-one rebates offered by stores such as Walgreen's and Rite Aid. I don't mail out as many single refund offers like I did in years past, mostly because of the lack of forms plus postage costs.

Anyway, I found an excellent site where you can print actual refund forms and thought that others may be interested in it as well. There is even information and addresses for No Form Needed offers and Satisfaction guaranteed info. The link is http://www.couponswap.o-f.com/online.htm.

I hope this is useful for refunding fanatics!
